Renovation work

Wigan housing stock is largely older, and almost nothing in it is square. An opening 40mm wider at the top is normal, not a defect, and it is the reason bought-in units do not fit and site-made ones do.

Renovations get measured on site, cut on site, and scribed to what is actually there rather than what a drawing said should be.

Typical renovation package

  • Strip out and make safe
  • New studwork and openings
  • Floor levelling and decking
  • Doors, linings and ironmongery
  • Skirting and architrave matched
  • Staircase repairs
  • Fitted storage where the space allows
Rates

What it costs

Placeholder — needs your figures

No rates are published anywhere for this business and nothing is guessed at here. Send whichever apply:

  • A day rate, and whether it differs for commercial work
  • Whether you price by the job on domestic work
  • Whether quotes and site visits are free
  • Whether you supply materials or work labour only
  • Payment terms on contract work
Placeholder — needs confirming

The scope above is the ordinary range for a Level 3 site carpenter. It has not been confirmed. Tell us what to cut and what to add. Also needed:

  • Public liability insurance, and the cover level
  • CSCS card and any other cards held
  • Which areas around Wigan you cover
  • Whether you work solo or take on labour
  • Lead time on a typical domestic job
